We drove through the local park's light display again this year. It was the first year with the van, and David thinks Cam could see much better. I know he went from slightly fussy to slack-jawed awe once we drove in and turned off our headlights. Megan was pointing out the different figures a mile a minute, and I think Cam was trying to participate too. (though we weren't able to distinguish what he was saying)
After we were through the display, we got out of the car and entered "SantaLand". Last year, Cam (10 mos) had sat nicely on Santa's lap and Megan had talked to him from the safety of a nearby rocking horse. We got a nice pic and put it in a light-up Christmas frame. This year, Cam was very uncertain about the big man with the beard. He did let me sit him on his knee, but panicked when I tried to leave him there. Megan, on the other hand, talked to Santa, sat on his lap, and smiled nicely for the camera. So this year's pic is just Megan... hopefully next year we can get both of them ON the lap. (Later, Cam did like to watch Santa, and imitate his "Ho Ho Ho")
David changed into his Santa outfit for the trip. When Santa saw David's duds, he said "Hey, you have my clothes!" There was also a "Scrooge" puppet who had a great sense of humor, and a dancing Christmas tree that both Cam and Megan loved (of course, we forgot the camera... we are NOT good about that!) We saw a magic show, a Christmas train display, ate snowman cookies (and Megan ambitiously tried hot apple cider), and played in "AdventureLand" (tunnels, slides, a play jail, and a ball pit)
