Happy 4th of July

I thought it was going to be a quiet day at home, followed by a visit to Mamie's (my mom) in the early evening. David had a different plan. We headed down to Ft Thomas (where he grew up) to see a parade in the rain. Only it magically stopped raining right when we got there. We enjoyed the parade - well, Megan enjoyed the candy and Cameron went absolutely bonkers over an ice cream sandwich the local dairy was distributing. We saw Grandma Joyce in the parade, and Megan, Cam, and David walked the last 1/4 mile with her.

We visited with Joyce, Ron, Julie (David's sister), Joel and Ayden (Julie's sons) for a while, then attempted a trip to the park. (we were rained out after about 20 minutes) We thought we were going to miss Mamie, because she had to work a Red's game that had been rain-delayed. But as we were getting close to her house, we were able to catch her on her cell. So we then spent a few hours with my side of the family (Mom, Jamie, Ced, Aidan)

It was a very full day. After we got home, the kids and I stood outside and looked for fireworks. We were lucky that a neighbor had some great ones. Neither Cam nor Megan were scared of the noise.

We all slept well that night.
